FIU Career Ready Micro-Certificate

The FIU Career Ready Micro-Certificate is designed to prepare students with the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century workforce. The Micro-Certificate shows employers that students are not only academically prepared, but that they are also Career Ready through a series of Micro-Credentials designed to supplement their curriculum.

About the Micro-Certificate

The FIU Career Ready Micro-Certificate teaches students power skills, also known as soft skills, that are valued by employers across all disciplines. The micro-certificate is based on the eight career readiness competencies as defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). The competencies are verified through a series of micro-credentials that address each of the 8 NACE competencies, selected by the student from the FIU Career Ready menu. These competencies include Career & Self-Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Equity & Inclusion, Leadership, Professionalism, Teamwork, and Technology. The FIU Career Ready Micro-Certificate and the micro-credentials that make up the certificate are free to all enrolled FIU students. Each are designed intentionally with flexibility to be completed throughout a student’s FIU academic degree program.
